David Keyman

As a happy, perfectly human child, David always looked up to his older brother Vincent and followed closely in his shadow. Together, they had warm summers filled with laughter and rough-house play, cold winters filled with good food and song. Everything was perfect, until the attack on their family home by Aldric the Undead God and his followers.

For all the beautiful memories of his youth, the most critical and painful was of being left alone amongst the corpse of his father, the bleeding body of his dear older brother, the screams of his kidnapped mother. To his sheer luck, he and his older brother Vincent were saved by their Godfather Darius Umbrage on that fateful night. In the infirmary of Castle Umbrage, young David stood over his comatose older brother, consumed with survivor's guilt.

Endlessly contemplating his inability to defend himself or his loved ones, his only comfort was found in Juda, the young sorceress Castle Umbrage was built to defend, and the adopted daughter of Lord Darius Umbrage himself. The two grew up together from a young age, and quietly became enamored, falling in love away from the prying eyes of Darius.

Once Vincent left on his secret mission, David became obsessed with never failing his loved ones again. He dedicated himself to the study of martial combat and war, following closely with his Godfather in the raising of an army to defend Juda, so that never again would Aldric threaten those he loved.

As a young man, David was handsome, charismatic, kind, and skilled with a sword and a gun, but Juda was wracked with dark visions. In the haunted woods surrounding the castle, Aldric's plans were coming to fruition. A being of unknown origin threatened to upturn Rannit's gravesite, unleashing unspeakable horrors that would annihilate humanity.

David took a bastion of men to confront the Evil, but completely underestimated the vile, alien nature of his enemy. David's men were slaughtered. David, wounded. He returned to Castle Umbrage to find it sacked. Everything he had ever loved, destroyed and stolen once again.

Juda was nowhere to be found. David left the ruin, dishevled and heart broken. His only hope, was to rally with his brother Vincent and find some means to stand against his enemies. However, something festered within David's wounds. He felt a ravenous hunger for flesh growing deep within his chest. On his journey, his teeth grew loose and fell out, replaced with viscious fangs.

In the night, his dreams turned from Juda's beauty to the corpses of slain families, ripped limb from limb. He awoke in shock and a cold sweat. His humanity was slipping by the hour. Lycanthropy had taken its hold on his soul.
