Vincent Keyman
Even to those closest to him, Vincent is an enigmatic mystery. Born to what he thought was a regular farm life with his close younger brother David, Vincent's childhood quickly became one of turmoil, exile, and deceit amongst those who would kill him if they discovered his true identity.
When Vincent was but an adolescent, his father told him stories of Aldric, Rannit, and Machya, the ancient Ashuran gods, their family's bloodline. Little did Vincent know, the ancient gods were real, and in his lifetime, have been reborn. Aldric, his father's nemesis, returned from the dead, and arrived to Vincent's family home with his followers, eliminating his parents in a viscious act of revenge.
Forced to defend his younger brother David against the onslaught of his Father's enemies, Vincent stood no chance, and was mortally wounded and left for dead. If not for the intervention of his Godfather, Darius Umbrage, he would have joined his father in the void of death.
After months in a coma and barely scraping by with his life, Vincent awakened to a haunting summer evening with a burning, psychological rage deep in his heart. Following the orders of his Godfather, he left on a secret mission in the dead of winter, to infiltrate the order of Aldric's followers and destroy them from the inside out.
Trained by the very monsters who would see him killed, he grew into a powerful and imposing young man. Bearing peak human strength and fighting abilities, he became a black-cloaked Ashuran Monk of War, a high-ranking member in what used to be the church of Rannit of the Ashurans, his people.
Years passed, and between the delapidated halls of spiders, dusty old tomes, piercing moonlight, and the brutal, blood-stained fight pits, he found his new home in the Church of Rannit. Always a skeptic of the divinity of the Ashuran gods, to Vincent's horror, in the dark halls of the ancient church, with bloodied dirt still grit in his teeth, a voice awakened within him. Rannit has chosen him, speaks to him from the afterlife, and the Dark God has motives of his own.
